Album review: Broken Family Band - Please And Thank You (Cooking Vinyl)

Possibly Cambridge's best-known band since Pink Floyd set the controls for the heart of the charts, the Broken Family Band continue to move away from the Americana sound which they were once renowned for.

Forging their own identity has paid dividends, as the sound of the US Midwest often felt at odds with singer Steve Adams' lyrics.

Apparently the theme of this, the band's seventh long player, is about being nice to people, but when you have songs detailing bad nights out in St Albans, you know here's a band who, unlike Snow Patrol, will not be compromise their music for a fast buck.
