Who can recall Suffolk air crash?
Published Date:

I am writing my life story and would very much appreciate readers' help in finding details of a plane that crashed near Hoxne.
At the time I was at Eye Secondary Modern School, it must have been in the very late 1950s but probably the early 1960s.
I seem to recall that it was a fighter plane on exercise and it crashed in a field between Hoxne and Oakley.
There were three crew who ejected, one parachute failed to open.
One of the masters and some of the boys went rushing over to have a look at the wreckage as we had all been in the playground when we saw the plane on fire and heard the huge explosion.
It is something that I can still see in my mind's eye and would like to include it in my book.
I would like to get the details as accurate as possible and would be grateful of any help.

Trolley aid is welcome
I would like to thank the young lady who helped me last Monday morning when my electric trolley broke down in the park.
Even though it was pouring with rain, she very kindly pushed me on the trolley home to Parkside Court.

Thanks for fundraising support
We would like to say a great big thank you to all those who supported our fundraising stall in Somerfield last Friday.
More than £120 was raised, which will be split equally between Children in Need and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
Our thanks also go to Baby Den in St Nicholas Street, who kindly donated a cuddly toy.
Also, thanks to the staff of Somerfield, who made cakes and donated a jar of sweets.
Their support has been invaluable.
Sadie, Nigel and Reece Stannard,
Diss
Gratitude
On behalf of Diss Rugby Club, I would like to thank all those members of the public that supported our annual firework display in such wet weather.
Your support is very much appreciated
