I was shocked and rather worried when I read about the proposal to convert the empty Hales Recruitment office, tucked away in an unassuming position behind Mount Street, into a private gym.
Although a residential area, what was a quiet office, keeping office hours, is now potentially to be a noisy, air-conditioned gym open seven days a week from 7am to 9pm.

I would have thought that Diss already offers more than enough options and excellent facilities for gym-goers at the swimming pool, Fit Club and at Heywood Sports and Racquet Club.

These well thought out locations have no negative impact on local residents.

I really hope that someone sees sense and rejects this proposal rather than impose such an unwanted lifestyle change on the peaceful residence of this tranquil hideaway.
