What a fantastic turn-out by the people of Diss.
It shows that the community spirit that is often missing in our town is still alive and well.

I would just like to comment on what a superb day we at The Greyhound had on Sunday's Carnival Floa
t Parade.

It was great to be part of the parade and was so nice to smile and wave at people as we passed through the town and have them all smiling and waving back, it gave us a real buzz.

A lot of work and preparation was involved, but it was well worth it.
I would highly recommend to any business or group to take part in next year's event.

I would like to thank some people who made the Greyhound Saloon float – Best Business Winner! – possible: Shaun Bartrum of Bartrum's Haulage Company for the kind use of the lorry (and driver – thanks John) S&O Civil Engineering, Mindy's Roadshow, Norfolk Feather (cheers Mags! x) and of course all the Greyhound staff and customers for taking part.

I look forward to next year's event being even bigger and better. Raft race anyone?

Dale Edwards,
The Greyhound, Diss

Grateful Brownies

I would like to say congratulations to 1st Diss Brownies, 2nd Diss Guides and 3rd Diss (SA) Rainbows, Brownies and Guides for their wonderful floats in the Carnival on Sunday and thanks to the leaders and families for all their time and hard work in making this all
happen.

Well done to everyone else for making the parade possible.
Thanks also to all families who made donations of prizes for the district stall and to the members of the Trefoil Guild who gave their time to help man the stall and members of the public, without whom it would not have been the success that it was.

The winning number for the car was eight and this was claimed on the day.

Diana Walker,
Diss District Commissioner,
Guide Association, Diss
