Didn't Mr Henderson move from fume-filled London to Eye? And he is complaining about the smell from Grampian? (Couple kick up a stink, Diss Express, August 29)
Maybe he should sue the estate agent who sold him his house.

The factory has been there longer than he has been alive. Did he not notice it?

I don't recall going into his boutique and being put off by the 'stink', but by the prices he was charging.

I believe he has moved his boutique to Southwold simply because it is full of Londoners who will pay such prices.

What will he do about the smelly North Sea when the wind blows in the wrong direction?

Caroline Prior, Oakley

  • Mr Henderson and his family have lived in Eye for a whole two years but the 'disgusting' chicken processing factory has been there for decades.

  • Surely before choosing to live and work within 500m of the factory you would take into consideration the problems that may occur?

Mr Henderson attributes the move of his business to the stink his customers had to endure whilst viewing his designer merchandise.

I would suggest that it may have been the eye-watering prices that had got up people's noses.

All businesses in Eye have to work hard and take into consideration its community's needs.

Most young people in the area will probably be on minimum wages, so perhaps jeans at more than £100 were not considered essential commodities.

As to the solution, it would seem that Grampian has bent over backwards to address the situation and comply with Environmental Laws but the nature of the business is never going to smell of roses.

    Great show!

I write to pass on our thanks for a great morning at the theatre.

I won the Diss Express competition to see the Cbeebies show at Norwich Theatre.

My husband and our two boys Ben (5) and Sam (2) had a fantastic time.

The boys were also very pleased with their extra goody bag.

    Thank you so much.

    Support your community

Wow, shock, horror, I'm on the front page of the Diss Express! (Banking on a better future, August 29).

You are never too old to save. There are always weddings, house moves, babies, all costing money.

The Norfolk Credit Union is a good place to put your money as it helps other people to borrow at a low cost.

It brings back community spirit; is easy and friendly so I do hope people will support the community instead of being money-grabbing share-holders.
