Singers and dancers are being given the chance to become Idol 2008.
The national competition is hosting its East Anglian regional audition on August 2 at Ipswich's Corn Exchange.

Idol 2008 allows singers, vocal groups and dancers and dance groups the chance to enter one of the country's largest talent contests.

Entrants will have the opportunity to perform live in front of large audiences as well as the chance to win up to £25,000 in prizes if crowned the UK's 2008 Idol.

The competition has two age categories: under 18s and 18s and over.

Vocal winners will receive a range of prizes including, for the winning act, a recording contract to release a single with the aim to get into the national charts.

Dance winners will be invited on a UK tour and appear in the video for the vocal winner's single.

To enter, or for more information, visit the Idol 2008 website.
