Mendham and Withersdale Community Council is hoping its Henley-style regatta on the River Waveney will make a big splash on July 26.
The regatta will be held near the bridge at Mendham, from noon onwards and will feature raft races.

Teams can enter their home-built rafts which should be made from plastic, metal or rubber tubes and lashed together on timber – no nails, screws or metal fixings allowed. The races will be divided into two age categories – nine to 15-year-olds and 16 years and above.

A prize will be given for the fastest raft in each age group and also for the most original raft design.

The Leonburger Club, featuring the Waveney Water Babes, will also be taking part in the regatta and will be demonstrating river rescue.

On the river bank there will be welly hurling; sack, plank and wheelbarrow races; a tug of war competition, children's corner and other activities and refreshments.

If you are interested in entering a raft or for details of the event, call Graham Taylor, 01379 853610.
