The Diss and District Branch of the Royal Air Force Association is celebrating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the RAF with a special event at the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum at Flixton, on October 12.
The Salute to 90 Years of the RAF will include flypasts and static displays, as well as stalls and displays of historic vehicles and starts at 11am.

Activities include a military ba
nd, drill squad and PT team from RAF Honington. The Beccles and Diss squadrons of the Air Training Corps will also be taking part, along with the ATC band from Lowestoft.

There will also be displays of military vehicles and, weather permitting, there will be flypasts by two Stearman aircraft, a Mustang, the RAF rescue helicopter and a glider from Tibenham Airfield.

Admission and car parking are free but donations to RAFA and the museum are welcome.

  • A film show containing mission details and live interviews with witnesses of a bomber collision over North and South Lopham in 1945 will be shown on Thursday.

  • The film, organised by the Red Feather Club of the 95th Bomb Group Heritage association in Horham, will be shown at the club at 7.30pm.
