The five churches of the Upper Waveney benefice – Roydon, Bressingham, Fersfield, North and South Lopham – will be opening their doors on Sunday, July 5, 10.30am-5pm, to welcome visitors to see their architecture and admire the floral decorations inside, some of which have been produced by schoolchildren.
Each church will be giving a floral interpretation of God’s Garden.

The festival also includes nine gardens to visit, some of which are well-established while others are major renovations and at least two that were fields only a few years ago.

One of the gardens has a mini vineyard planted this year.

Each church will have a different stall running throughout the day and there will be refreshment stops at three of the churches and two gardens. The Gislingham Silver Band will also be playing in one garden and there will be music at North Lopham church.

The day will finish with an open air Songs of Praise service in one of the gardens at 5.30 pm.

Entry to the gardens costs £3, with children 12 and under free.

Programmes, which contain details of all the places to visit, will be available at all the churches and gardens so visitors can start their tour at any one of the five villages.

All profits from the day will be split between the churches, three of which are currently engaged in major building projects.
