It began as a one-off fundraiser for the local doctor's surgery, but this year, Stradbroke Country Fair is back by local demand.
Tomorrow's fair, 2-6pm, features old traditional favourites such as Punch and Judy, ferret racing and morris dancing – all at a meadow owned by parish councillor Peter Smith.

"We have a large meadow and it seemed a good idea," he said.

"We try and recreate as much as possible how fetes were years ago. We have Punch and Judy with the children sitting on hay bales and they really love it."

The fair meadows at Street Farm, Laxfield Road, attracted more than 500 visitors last year and raised in excess of £700. This year it will be home to a pony, a donkey; rabbits and guinea pigs to entertain children, as well as stalls.

A beer tent and barbecue will be available to refresh visitors, and a quiz offers a cash prize.

Entry is £2 for adults, free for children. Free car parking is available in Neaves Lane.

For more details, call Peter Smith, 01379 384311.
