Ploughman's, that delicious rustic meal of bread, cheese and pickles - is normally associated with pub lunches.
But it's also ideal al fresco food to make at home. You can ring the changes with soft or salty cheeses, like Brie or Danish Blue, or the crunch of celery, onion and apple. But the original Ploughman's – and most people still think the best – is matu
re Cheddar and fruity chutney.

The English Provender Company has created a chutney perfect for the occasion – it's even called Ploughman's Plum Chutney. Made by experts using the finest ingredients, it is fabulously fruity and contains generous chunks of juicy plums.

For a fuss-free picnic, just pack a basket with a crusty baguette, a slab of smooth, rich, mature cheddar, a jar of Ploughman's Plum Chutney – and a bottle of wine of course. You'll be in Ploughman's heaven! Remember, though, that Ploughman's Plum Chutney is also great with cold meats, sausages, sandwiches and salads.

To get you in the mood, the Diss Express has teamed up with The English Provender Company to offer six lucky readers the chance to win the perfect Ploughman's kit – a beautiful cheeseboard and cheese knife set, some delicious Pilgrims Choice Mature Everyday Cheddar – a rich, smooth, creamy Cheddar naturally matured for about nine months, and that essential jar of English Provender's Ploughman's Plum Chutney.
