Burston Church is set to house an Affordable Art Fair, hosted by local artist Dorothy Swanton, next week.
In a bid to raise money for Open Doors, a worldwide charity helping persecuted Christians, Mrs Swanton will be selling pieces of her original artwork.

She has purposefully down-priced all items and stresses that "this is affordable art with something for everybody".

A five pack of hand-painted cards depicting local scenes costs £4, while the upper limit of any painting is fixed at £90.

Mrs Swanton said: "Much of my art is inspired by light effects. I love painting when shadows are long in the early morning and late evening."

The four-day fair begins with a preview on Thursday, 7pm, when there will be free wine and a presentation.

The fair will then run Friday to Saturday 10am-5pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm. For more details, call 01379 741577.
