Cloudburst led to town evacuations
After reading about the Kenninghall floods in the Diss Express last month, Bob Ward dug out his photos of similar scenes.
Mr Ward, who lives in Diss, was helping his neighbour paint his house in Stanley Road when he looked up and saw a threatening black cloud.
"A Boscastle-type cloud stopped overhead and then it just kept raining," he said.
"It took off all the paint we had just put on the house."
Mr Ward, who works for Royal Mail, said it rained so hard that the section between the Post Office counters in Diss and the sorting office filled up with water, which then came seeping through the windows.
"Across town, people were evacuated from their homes in Fair Green," he said.
"Water was pouring in from Roydon – it came down Croft Lane and Denmark Street.
"It was unbelievable how the weather could change in such a short period of time."
The one thing Mr Ward cannot remember is when the floods took place and would like to know if anyone can give a date.
