Ruth Downes of Burston brought in this photograph of mothers with their babies and toddlers which she believes was taken somewhere in Gissing.

The photo was handed down to Mrs Downes in her family’s collection of photographs and she thinks it was taken in 1957.

Mrs Downes is pictured in the photograph in the front row on the left sitting on her mother’s lap, the late Gwen Mullenger.

Other faces she recognised in the photo were Doreen and Stephen Alger, sitting in the front row second from right, and Joyce and Paul Cole sitting in the back row second from right.
