Player of the season: Dion Dublin. Even in Sunday's final, farewell performance against Sheffield Wednesday, the 39-year-old striker was giving a master-class in the art of leading the line.
Worst player of the season: Ian Murray. Whatever he once had to be made Hibs skipper he left at home in Scotland.

Having beat a hasty retreat north following Glenn Roeder's arrival, Murray suggested that the City chief was an "angry man" – as were 25,000 other Canary fans given the level of his non-performance.

Best goal of the season: Ched Evans' rocket away at Cardiff City.

That goal, almost as much as any one other single event, got Norwich across the finishing line.

Best young player of the season: Ched Evans – if someone else's player can be counted. The on-loan Manchester City teenager returned to an uncertain future at Eastlands with ten goals to his name.

Best tackle of the season: Ched Evans. As Danny Haynes ripped the Canaries apart at Portman Road, Evans'40-yard run back to cover was always a yellow card waiting to happen.

But the point was that he saw the danger, reacted and did what any professional should – that if he wasn't going to get near the ball, then he would take the player out before he reached the danger zone.

Best signing of the season: Martin Taylor on loan. Tiny did a big job at the heart of the Canaries defence and his brave, stooping header in the derby clash on his home debut showed Doherty and Shackell what a centre-back is meant to do in the opposition box.

Villain of the season: Karen Brady. The Birmingham City chief executive toyed with everyone when it came to agreeing – or not – Taylor's full-time switch to Norfolk.

Referee Andy D'Urso is also worth a mention

Best signing of the season:
Ched Evans again. Quite what Norwich would have done without his ten goals is anyone's guess.

Actually, it's not much of a guess... they would have been relegated.

Best farewell: The standing ovation that greeted Dublin's exit on the hour at Hillsborough. No mean feat to get 35,000 people on their feet for 30 seconds in the midst of a relegation decider.

Biggest regret: That Darren Huckerby won't be about the place to liven up a pre-match Press conference by shooting from the lip in his traditional fashion.

Whatever else he brought to a football pitch, he always delivered great copy off it.
