Football: Ipswich Town fan Nick Wells regrets that a hero's return has been overshadowed this week

What should have been a triumphant week at Portman Road has been rather overshadowed by the furore over David Norris' goal celebration against Blackpool.
The midfielder's insensitive gesture of solidarity with his jailed former Plymouth team-mate Luke McCormick was at best naive and at worst stupid.
Norris has apologised to the grieving family of the two boys, whose deaths were caused by McCormick's dangerous driving, and hopefully this will bring a close to the sorry saga.
It is a shame that Town's win at Blackpool had to be soured in this way, as it was a positive step towards our target of a top six finish.
The 1-0 win showed a growing resolve among the Blues to grind out results. The sort of strength of character that we were missing last season on our travels.
On top of our first back-to-back victories since March, was the news that our protracted search for a left-winger may have finally come to a close with the signing of former favourite Darren Ambrose on loan with a view to a permanent deal.
There were many bitter pills to swallow when Town went into administration but the departure of Ambrose for a measly £1m was the worst.
We had got used to favourite players like Kieron Dyer, Richard Wright and Matt Holland leaving IP1 but at least we got a decent opportunity to enjoy their ability.
Whereas when Ambrose joined Newcastle, he had only played 30 first team games.
Now we have greater financial security, it seems only fitting that Ambrose returns.
We know he can be the mercurial wideman we have been missing, who has the pace and guile to open up defences with his dribbling and decisive passing.
He is also a dead ball specialist, which are in short supply at Portman Road.
The only words of caution are, that we are once again asking a right-footed player to operate on the left, although he has shown he can operate on both flanks in the past.
Also, whereas a few weeks ago Ambrose would have been straight in the team, you would have to question whether Alan Quinn deserves to be dropped from a team in form.
Do we want Jim Magilton to tinker with a settled side, which is winning?
Tomorrow's trip to bottom-of-the-table Doncaster will be an ideal opportunity to make it three league wins out of three.
I just hope if we do, that the three points will be the only thing we will be talking about in the aftermath of the match.
