Football: Ipswich Town fan Nick Wells says now is the time to show faith in striker Kevin Lisbie

It seems Portman Road has almost been in hibernation for the international break.
With the pressure gradually easing on Jim Magilton and no loan signings appearing to be on the horizon, there has been little news coming out of IP1.
I imagine that was why our chief executive Derek Bowden's comments about David Nugent still being a target were seized upon with such relish by us news-hungry Town supporters.
With Nugent in the treatment room, yet again, it seems worthless to speculate for the umpteenth time about whether we want a player who would clearly improve our team but has a huge question mark over his desire to wear the Suffolk Punch on his chest.
The bigger issue is, that despite buying two new strikers in the summer, Town still don't look to have the firepower to take us to the top six and beyond.
Jon Stead would beg to differ with his impressive three goals in six games since he arrived but the history books suggest he is unlikely to maintain this strike rate.
He appears to fit the bill of the big man we need to lead the line and probably weigh in with a modest total of ten to 12 goals this season, which go with the role.
If that is the case, the partner beside him needs to reach the magic number of 20.
Whereas Pablo Counago may have been a penalty-box poacher in his first spell at the club, since the matador returned he has become our crucial link-man.
Again, I can see him weighing in with a dozen goals but alongside Stead, this is simply not prolific enough
For all his qualities, Jon Walters is not the fox in the box we're looking for either.
In our current arsenal of strikers, Kevin Lisbie is the only one who has the potential to be the goal getter we need.
When he was signed in the summer, Magilton rejected claims that Lisbie was merely a stop-gap signing because he couldn't sign his first choices but this now appears to be the case.
Despite an early flourish in the Town shirt, Lisbie seems to be spending more and more time on the bench, which is sure to stifle his form and confidence.
After a stop-start 12 years at Charlton, Lisbie's career finally got going at Colchester last season because he had a manager, who was prepared to play him from the start and the pacy striker paid him back with 17 goals in a struggling side.
Before Magilton starts to try to lure a big name striker like Nugent in January, surely he needs to give Lisbie a decent opportunity to show he could be what we're looking for.
