Bands in the Diss area now have a chance to get on radio after BBC Radio Norfolk launch a new weekly local music show on Fridays.
BBC Norfolk Introducing is aired from 7pm to 8pm, and is also available to listen to on bbc.co.uk/norfolk – live and on the iPlayer for seven days after broadcast.

Zoe Applegate, who produces the show with Gary Standley, from BBC Voices in Norwich, said: "BBC Norfolk Introducing is a great way for bands to get their music aired to not just the rest of the county, but the world.

"Norfolk has so many great bands, and that's something that producers at BBC Radio 1 also know. Huw Stephens and his team on Radio 1 have been really supportive, playing some of the tracks we've sent to him.

As a result of Radio 1's interest, Miss Applegate and her team accompanied The Kabeedies, featuring Eye musician Rory Hill, to a session.

"At Maida Vale they got to work with some world-class engineers and a couple of their tracks were unveiled on BBC Norfolk Introducing before being played on Radio 1's Best Of Introducing show ," said Miss Applegate

"We're looking to hear from all types of bands playing and recording in the county and we'd love to hear from groups around Diss. All music sent to us must be original though – no covers."
